Chief Privacy Officer
Jim is a senior-level healthcare technology executive focused on technology and finance with specific expertise in healthcare data, technology development, and HIPAA privacy compliance. He currently is working at 2nd Watch, a cloud and data & analytics technology consulting firm as their Healthcare Practice Leader. Previously, he worked at several healthcare startups located out of MATTER Chicago in senior business and technology roles (CTO/CFO) with both payer and provider end customers including CTO at NowPow (social determinants of health) and as the Chief Privacy Officer at Bright Pink (breast and ovarian cancer awareness NFP). Before, Jim was the VP of IT at Land of Lincoln Health and previously was a director as part of KPMG’s CIO Advisory practice consulting to large health insurance companies. Prior, Jim was Senior Director, Health Information Technology at Health Care Service Corporation (HCSC) which is the parent company of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois, Montana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas. Early in his career, Jim’s experience included corporate finance, strategy, and M&A at several Fortune 500 companies. Jim holds a master’s degree in computer science from Northern Illinois University, an MBA in finance from DePaul University, and an undergraduate degree in general engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
